Jewelry Design Suite 3D for Rhinoceros

This plugin is the JDS for Rhino plugin which enhances the features of Rhino with tools and libraries especially for designing, developing and visualization of 3D jewelry.

The base of the plugin is the crystal component library which provides the Swarovski Crystals in a easy and clear accessible library. It consists of all the cuts, sizes, colors and effects. For each cut and size the geometry is available and for the most also a data sheet.

User interface in Rhino

Within Rhino there are several types of user interfaces which are used depending on the tool or feature.

JDS Menu

In the Rhino menu bar there is the JDS menu available, which provides an easy access to all the JDS commands available. It is structured in different topics to give a fast direction where you can find the right tool. Of course all the commands can be entered as text in the command window.
There are different types of commands which either starts a simple Rhino command, shows a panel or starts an enhanced JDS tools with a UI window.

JDS Toolbar

The toolbar gives you the visual entry point for the JDS tools. It is split into 4 different toolbars, otherwise it would be to much for only one. Some tools like for the technical drawing or the strand tools are outsourced. But the main toolbar holds the tools which are used and also needed mostly. All the buttons either start a Rhino command or start a UI window with more enhanced features.

Panels

Panels are dockable windows which is actively part of a command but shows more like a current state. For example the layer panel shows the visibility and color of the layers. Like this there are several panels from the JDS plugin which shows the state or the content of the 3D file.

Cockpit: Shows the BOM and the colorway of the current 3d content.
Swarovski Components: Gives access to the Swarovski Crystal Component library.
Clipboard: Advanced 3d geometry clipboard.
