Add Jewels

Rhino command: JewelAdd

There are two methods to select a jewel for inserting in Rhino.

  • If a jewel BOM entry is selected, the command will take this jewel to insert into Rhino.
  • If no BOM entry is selected (or no BOM available) the command will display a jewel selection dialog, where all available articles can be found (currently only round stones and fancy stones).

The second step is to select the geometry where the crystal should be placed on. This can be a surface, polysurface or a T-Splines object (in Compatible Smooth Object Speed mode).

Now the position of the cursor will be taken to position the crystal on the surface. During adding the crystal is not visible but the position and the size will be displayed as contours in 3D.
The black contour is the maximum tolerance size of the article.
The green dotted line is the maximum tolerance + security distance (at the moment it will be always a circle).
The blue dotted line is the stone link generation area - every crystal within this area will be linked.
The orange line symbolize the Z-Axis (perpendicular to surface) and the X-Axis (displays rotation) of the crystal.

Head Up Display

This display appears during add/edit of crystals or pips. Within this display the parameter for manual setting of crystals/pips can be modified directly (place cursor above value and rotate mouse wheel) or with hot keys and mouse wheel. If you use the hot keys the corresponding value will be highlighted in the Head Up Display.
