Chain Builder
Rhino command: JewelChainBuilder
Dialog Description
Arrangement:
The chain can be made either with equal distance between each chain-element or it can be a fix distance. If a fixed distance is used the seam will not be adapted and it must be controlled by the user itself.
Trail Range:
The chain-elements can be filled over the full chain-trail or it can be a part of it. To set the segment you simply switch to trail segment and enter the start and the end point of the trail (see command window).
Objects:
With this value the amount of chain-elements can be defined. It does not matter which arrangement is used, it will always use this amount of objects. The maximum value for the slider is the amount of chain-elements in equal distance mode with the ideal distance.
Rotation:
The rotation of the chain-elements can be defined by different settings.
The start angle is the angle of the first element. This can be helpful if the elements are very big and the initial rotation of the elements is important.
The increment angle is the difference angle between two elements.
The jitter angle is a additional random angle to make a chain more realistic. With this maximum jitter angle a maximum deviation can be defined.
Control:
You can either redraw the preview, bake the chain or close the dialog.
Handling
After starting the command the chain-element must be supplied e.g. a ring as shown in the screenshot. Next the start and end point must be selected which are used as link-points for the chain (red points in the screenshot).
At the end the trail must be selected. Now the dialog appears with some prefilled values.
